Music Ministries Director

Marcia Desilets

Marcia Kidder Desilets is a resident of Sterling, MA. She currently teaches violin, viola, and piano to students in the surrounding communities. Marcia recieved her Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from New England Conservatory in 1981. She has studied violin with Robert Koff and Virginia Neikrug, as well as becoming certified in several levels of the Suzuki pedagogy. She has played in a number of area orchestral groups such as the Thayer Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Pro Musica, and the Lancaster Chamber Ensemble. Marcia has also been an organist and choir director in several area churches. She has three adult children, Danielle, Brent and Alex, who all play various instruments and sing.

I believe that music is an essential element of worship. It is not just a profession for me, but a way of life. From my studies at New England Conservatory to my many years playing in orchestras and ensembles, to teaching music to many students and sharing my music skills in churches, I have had the good fortune of being blessed but also blessing many others. I have especially enjoyed encouraging young people to discover their innate musical talents and share them with their church family. Even my studio students are encouraged to share the music that they learn in lesson with their individual churches.

My joy is being able to bring a spiritual quality to the service that would not be there otherwise. My belief in God and my love of music inspire me as I serve, and it is an honor to be apart of the United Parish Church and welcome you to join us for Sunday services at 10am and lets worship the Lord together in singing!

  • Convoy of Hope Thanksgiving donation

Dear United Parish Of Winchendon Friends,

    Happy Thanksgiving!

The Mission’s committee at the United Parish Church were discussing, how even during these crazy times, we still feel incredibly blessed, by the love and support of our family, friends, and our church home.

In the past, we, the United Parish, would participate in a “good will offering” during our Thanksgiving Eve service. This year we thought we would extend the offering a little further by asking our supporters of Constant Contact to make a donation of Thanksgiving to the Convoy of Hope.

This humanitarian organization was founded in 1994 by Hal Donaldson, after receiving an out pouring of love and financial aid when his father was killed in a car accident and his mother severely injured.

Please continue to read his story at Convoy of Hope-Wikipedia or the mission work led by the Convoy of Hope at

All donations should be made out to the United Parish, with Convoy of Hope on the memo line and mailed to: United Parish 39 Front Street Winchendon, MA 01475

We will keep you posted as to the final tally of this “All We Are Thankful For Thanksgiving.”

To you and your loved ones, may you have a blessed and safe Thanksgiving.
